Affordable 720p in a compact space
The VPL-BW7 debuted at under $1000 for a near high resolution projector. It had changed the way the price concious cinema enthusiast looked at projectors. Back in 2009 this was a game changer.
Fast forward to 2018 and a used one for under $100 is considered a wise buy. The image may be a bit fuzzy as optics need maintainance, but the durability of Sony products means it'll serve the pround owner with confidence for years to come. I found no need for the high lamp mode in a controlled environment. The noise level is also very tolerable at 35 dBA. The noise does get distracting using high lamp power mode at 42 dBA. The internal built in automatic progressive scan handles the picture quality with finesse and subtlty. Although it only accepts 1080i at 30Hz, it upscales it to near 1080p/60Hz quality that comes across beautifully. The maximum picture size is also flexible with the 1.2x zoom ratio that makes a 120" screen size possible from 12'. The picture settings are well organized and few enough to master in under a week. The pricing on the lamp is also very tolerable at under $100 for a bulb on ebay.

Quick & Reliable upgrade
I don't believe I've ever had an intel processor die on me and this dates back to the 486 & 586 processors. Intel processors are designed to outlive the computers they come with. My first gen i3-330M just couldn't keep up with todays demanding applications so I got this first gen i7-740QM as a replacement. No modifications required, only some arctic silver thermal compound ontop of the processor after installing and before locking the cover. It does run much hotter than I expected 45W TDP vs. 35W TDP on my i3. It barely goes beyond 30% usage and never past 2.3Ghz. I'm surprised how well it handles Win 10 pro build 1709 (2018) without hesitation. Highly recommended

Great Product but...
This is a great product. My main objective when purchasing Media Suite 12 was to bypass the high price Media Suite 13 has. But this price is there for a reason, if you happen to buy Media Suite xx after the latest one is released you'd have to upgrade to get some blocked features in photo director and power producer enabled. Otherwise this is a great product because it doesn't interfere(block) with features in their best selling product-Cyberlink Power DVD-which is well worth the savings you get by bypassing their latesr Power DVD software. For more than 50% savings on purchasing the old media suite -in this case 12- you get award winning software with trial versions of Photo director and Power producer with half the features fully functional. I recommend buying Media Suite 12 knowing that you'll enjoy their award winning DVD player with full functionality but with partial functionality on their bundled Creative Suite.
