Perfect for my application
Used it to build an impedance matching transformer for the amateur 630m band (475 kHz), at a 200W power level. Construction was simple and straightforward, and the resulting performance was just as specified, with minimal losses.

The definitive device for packet radio and Emcomm
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the "go-to" device for anyone who needs to get on packet radio, particularly for EmComm. The unit can operate off of an AC adaptor, an internal 9V battery, or from an external battery (such as a 13.8V AGM SLA used in conjunction with solar panels or other charging source.) It is simple to set up, but also has a lot of advanced features that permit it to be used as a mailbox unit as well. Its interfaces are straightforward and "old-fashioned", so they can be used with virtually any computer; if USB is needed, use a 9-pin D connector RS232 to USB converter cable, but make sure it's got an FTDI chip in it, not a Prolific. It can be used with Windows, Linux and macOS, and I've successfully used it with Windows running under Parallels (virtual system software) on a Mac.

Perfect for the job
I was able to plug it right in, as directed by the instruction sheet, and it came up running beautifully. I have the actual GPS module stuck to the top center of my windshield using double-sided tape, and it is able to track the satellites with no difficulty even though I'm in a fairly mountainous area. It works perfectly with the IC-7100 and I'm able to use D-PRS through my local D*Star repeater to report my location through the APRS system, just as I hoped.
