Original part pulled from used equipment; perfect drop-in replacement for older MacBooks!
Original, good condition, works perfectly in 2012 MacBook Pro (A1398). Went from getting 450Mbps max to 1300Mbps (option-click on wifi icon to see speed). Unlock with Apple Watch now works also - nice!

Very cheap; no working ground, no DC isolation, so not very safe...
Transformer is very heavy duty, but the ground plug had no connectivity from input to output.
The ground plug was screwed to painted parts internally, preventing grounding from working. This can be fixed with a screwdriver, a bit of sandpaper, and an ohm-meter, and is probably acceptable for the very inexpensive price, but something to check for.
The transformer is also an auto-transformer, meaning it provides no DC isolation from primary to secondary. Isolation was not mentioned in the product listing, so I can't really complain, but again something to be aware of.
If I had to buy another one, I would probably stop being cheap and buy a proper step-down isolation transformer from Hammond, which seems to be the only company making quality transformers, unless you can test dozens from China and find a good one.
