JVC KD-R330 In-Dash Car Stereo CD/MP3 Player Receiver w/ Dual Aux Inputs KDR330
    Nov 04, 2015
Great sound at a bargain basement price
I'm coming at this review from the standpoint of my career as an audio engineer where the one must develop a pronounced, instinctive response to quality problems present in an audio source. In the case of the JVC KD-R330, I was immediately struck by the complete absence of any irritating or annoying audio attributes. For an audio product at this price range, it was a complete surprise and a very pleasant one. When the EQ section is in the default setting, the sound is well defined, clean and free of fatiguing resonances with a frequency balance that is surprisingly smooth and neutral. Music is satisfying and well represented and speech is clean and clear. That said, the lowest of the bass frequencies are a little lean, but this is far better (for my tastes) than the typically "hyped," and acutely overstated bass response found in most contemporary car audio systems. There is however, a preset EQ selection that mimics the resonant and thundering "boom-box" style of audio EQ that rattles the entire neighborhood, but the KD-R330 is a little short on power for that kind of thing which makes the dynamic range collapse when the demand is high. For those who want some small tweaks in the playback response, there is a custom EQ feature that gives users access to a multi-band EQ. While this feature a bit cumbersome to access and use, the outcome can be stored as a preset so that once you get what you want, that chore is out of the way for the life of the unit. Given the price of well under $100, it's hard to imagine finding something better without spending four or five times that amount. I have to give it five stars, two thumbs up, and a technological achievement award for a price to performance ratio that seems almost too good to be true.

Xerox Fuser Assembly for Phaser 6180 6180MFP 675K92002
    Mar 07, 2016
Worked great and saved a few bucks.
This was a long shot, but it worked. My Xerox 6180 stopped printing and gave the message, "fuser error." The diagnostic software linked to the computer said, "fuser error, please contact Xerox for factory service." Looking at the photos of fusers available for purchase, I was able to locate and remove the fuser assembly from the 6180 and compare it to the available unites. The part number on my fuser did not match the part numbers for the replacement version. Yet, the fuser was advertised as being compatible with all Xerox 6180s. So, I took a chance on the mismatched part numbers. Lo and behold, installation was dirt simple and the 6180 fired up right away and prints perfectly. When this whole episode came up, I shopped around for a replacement printer. But now I'm glad I chose to repair the old one. Especially considering that I have around $300 worth of toner in the machine that would have been discarded. Given that a comparable new printer would have cost at least $300, I figure I saved around $500 with this purchase.
Castelli Venti Socks Made in Italy Size S-M Merino Wool Cushioned Cycling

    Really nice socks.
I really like these socks. I had trouble finding merino wool socks that weren't bulky and thick. These fit the bill. They offer the dry-wicking qualities and can be used in warm or hot weather. Plus, the price is outstanding and they look great, so I'd call this a five star item all the way.
