Update
Update: After additional rainstorms, the rain gauge is totally useless and inaccurate.

Skip it
Very simple - no provision for adjustments of any kind other than reset. It's either way too sensitive or simply inaccurate. It says I hit 10,000 steps each day and there is no way that's true.
I'd skip this model and go for one that allows you to input your stride.

effective solution
This is about the only solution for me and my cracked winter hands. It requires 2-3 days for results and it's also like applying candle wax instead of a creme, but it is effective.
