Backsliding Fearlessly
2 of 2 found this helpful After Gene Clark left the Byrds he recorded a very rootsy solo album which seemed too "retro" to many of his fans. Then he teamed up with Doug Dillard for these two recordings and looked back even further.
Many people passed on this music and it is a shame.
If you like excellent songwriting, superb musicianship, fine arrangements, and music that broke down barriers years before they had catagories for it then this is for you.
Call it country rock, newgrass, Americana, alt country, or whatever you prefer.
I call it great and timeless.

Top Shelf Prine!
It's John Prine writing and playing at his usual superb level with a cast of stellar (and well known) sidemen. Shipping was super fast even in these troubled times!

growing process
A solid release with a few original compositions that pointed the way to Savoy Brown becoming more than just another British blues band.
They developed a more singular personality over their next three releases, however. Those are more worthy of your attention.
Start with 'Raw Sienna' or the aptly titled 'A Step Further'.
