Sweet Baby James : A Pop-Up Lullaby by James Taylor SEALED Hardcover
    Nov 16, 2021
A sweet book that will trigger fond memories of an awesome song!
I admit, the book was pricey, (more than I had expected to pay when I started searching) but based on comparable listings, for this and other book vendor websites, the price I paid was quite reasonable. And since it is a gift for a serious James Taylor fan who loves the song Sweet Baby James, it was worth the money. The text, (lyrics) are wonderful of course. The photo illustrations are great (and are familiar from his current tour). The pop-ups don't pop up quite as nicely as I would like, but it still has a nice look to it. Condition of this copy was new and fine, as advertised. The only thing that would put it over the top would be if it was signed by James Taylor himself! Now wouldn't that be wonderful!!
NEW FIRST 1st BOOK HARDCOVER DJ - WOLVES IN THE WALLS - Neil Gaiman Dave McKean

Wolves in the Walls is Great!
Well, I already knew this book was wonderful, having read it before purchasing it---both the author and the illustrator are superb--a strange and marvelous story with strange and marvelous pictures--can't go wrong. (And the price I paid on ebay was pretty marvelous too!)

Versed in Country Things by Robert Frost (1996)
I happened upon the book by accident, while looking for Robert Frost books that were illustrated by J. J. Lankes...As I so often do, I am first attracted to a book by the visual rather than textual content, though in this case, I was already a fan of Frost's poetry. The cover photograph was a winner, so captured the feeling of Frost's poems about rural New England, that solitude, that sometimes pensive quality, and the price was right! Seemed like a no-brainer. Well, the book is beautiful. If you are a Frost fan, or a B & W photography fan, or a fan of imagery and text that capture a disappearing "New England way of life", this book is certainly a must! One of my favorite things about ebay searches is the serendipity of finding things that are tangential to the original quest....this book, for example. I didn't know it was even out there until I stumbled upon it...many of my favorite purchases are like that---a quilt that happened to list my birthplace in the description, which then led me to a locally printed church group's cookbook...or my recent plunge into the realm of alternative comics begun by a search for Art Spiegelman that triggered ebay messages of "something else you might like"...You never know what might be out there, part of the thrill is finding out, and with this book at least, the search led to a happy conclusion!
