I am now retired and plan to do a lot of SELLING now rather than BUYING ! I have not sold anything on Ebay in at least a year , but I am ready to fire up and get going again. I am easy to work with and want you to be happy with your purchases. I think I enjoy SELLING more than BUYING because I like to help people find the things they need and love ! The Scarlet Letter ( 1995)
1 of 1 found this helpful Now I taught American Literature for 38 years in junior high and senior high classes. The Scarlet Letter is standard reading and study material for 11th grade American Literature all over America. So, for the teachers of English Literature out there, let me say now that the ending of this movie is not the same as Hawthorne's book. This one has a very happy ending. I find no problem with that. Your students can write a review and compare Hawthorne's ending with the ending here. The movie itself will transport your students to Hester's world. You may have to edit scenes not appropriate for high school. That's what the remote control is for. My students loved this movie. So did my history students who needed a feeling for the Puritan era. If you don't teach and just love American history, get a copy. You will not be disappointed.

1 of 2 found this helpful This is a movie for men. If you want to see the Mayan Empire alive on the screen, get this movie. From the beginning to the end, the action does not stop. As prisoners for sacrifice are led into the city, the costumes and make-up of the 700 extras allow you to distinguish the social classes of the inhabitants. Rudy Youngblood was born to play the leading role, and the story is his story of capture and his attempt to escape certain death if the Mayan warriors chasing him are successful in their hunt.
