This is a great resource for casters. My DM and I had to rewrite some of the prestige classes because they were garbage (looking at you, effigy master), but the sections on arcane events, lore, and the new creatures are well worth it. My policy with dnd books has always been "find the pdf and if you love it, buy it" and I certainly needed to buy this book.

Doesnt get enough credit

I certainly get why this book gets so much, if not hate, then apathy. Theres not a whole lot for most players. The main selling point for this book is the ability for players to be monsters. whoop-dee-doo. For me, the best part of this book was the templates and expanded template stacking rules. As a player/DM who loves making strange monstrosities, this book is exactly what i needed. My policy with dnd books has always been "find the pdf, and if you love it, buy it" and I certainly had to buy this one.
