The recounting of mountain yarns and tales repeated by a flat lander
Clearly when you reach the back of the book you realize that this was a commercial enterprise and not just the day to day experiences of a trapper, many of the exploits as it pertains to Indian fighting are highly and obviously embellished, in all the time he wintered with natives he never mentions taking a mountain wife or comfort squaw, in the beginning of the book he recounts a daring encounter with a grizzly, and at the end he is throwing rocks in their den to hunt them and return to camp as a great hunter. The last pages are his letters to his sister and he mentions marketing his novel, also his spelling and grammar are much improved and you realize that he was unusually fond of his sister. At best this is a collection of yarns assembled by a green horn.

This Changed My Life.
I have my life before getting this and my new life after getting this, and it is a whole new world, for the first time in a long time I want to fully embrace life and accept it even if it is challenging because now I have the tool I need to swab my bore, wish I would have gotten this sooner, my life could have been so different, I did not know how empty I was until at last I was filled. I want to live, and I mean really live, I want a richness and fullness that can only come from meeting life head on, and now that I have this brass cleaning jag I finally can, I can go home again, I get a second chance to pursue my dreams. Thank you to the hard working people that made this and the awesome folks that helped me with this purchase, you change lives.

Take a step back to go forward.
4 of 4 found this helpful This will take you back to a better time when boyhood and cowboy ethics lived, A time when a man was measured by his deeds, and those deeds were noble. Truth Justice and the AMERICAN way. In America we liberate and set free the dreams that are born in the hearts of free men.
