YAMAHA Music Sequencer Rhythm Machine QY10 / MIDI CABEL (MADE IN JAPAN)

Best MIDI looper

I needed the pattern repeating functionality of most drum machines, but with additional MIDI instruments. The QY10 is exactly what I needed. I can have drums, bass, piano, organ, et cetera, et cetera playing in the background for the verse of a song. Then advance to the next pattern for the chorus. Then back to the verse, and back to the chorus. And so on. Here's a cheat code for this, and other pattern playing devices with limited measures per pattern: to record a 12 bar blues pattern with the 8 bar limit of the QY10, I simply change the time signature to 6/4. Then a bar and a half of music fits in a single bar on the QY10. If I need 16 bars, I change it to 8/4. Then 2 bars of music fit in a single bar of the QY10. If I need 10 bars, a 5/4 meter does the trick. 7/4 for 14 bars. Since I'm playing along with the drum machine synced to the QY10, not the QY10 itself, the nonstandard meters set in the QY10 don't throw me off at all.

Brand new in box diamond needle stylus for Audio-Technica 6006 cartridge

My old 6006 cartridge has never sounded so good

I never knew my old 6006 cartridge could sound so fantastic. I acquired it without the stylus, and tried the one designed for the AT92e and AT311EP. There didn't seem to be a reasonably priced, proper stylus available at the time. The sound was so so, and the surface noise was amplified, so into the drawer it went. I came across this stylus and dusted off the cartridge. My linear tracking turntable has never sounded better.

Best device for digitizing VHS tapes

The best device I've found for digitizing old VHS tapes. Better than any USB tuner or capture device. With the smoothest motion, and highest picture quality. That is of course using the analog tuner, with a coaxial cable from the VCR antenna out. Newer TV tuner cards don't have analog tuners. Composite video tends to degrade overall picture quality. It's rare to find a VCR with S-Video out. Stereo sound is captured using a separate audio interface. The recording software used is PotPlayer, though it would likely also work great with OBS Studio. This card works great with my old machine still running Windows 7. Which I also use with my old M-Audio Delta 1010 audio interface. Which does not play well with newer versions of Windows. I didn't even try jury rigging the TV Tuner into a machine running Windows 10 or 11. So I can't say how well that would work. This card reportedly works with Linux, but I didn't try that either.
