The Historian
1 of 1 found this helpful Every time I think that there is no way to make any story about Dracula fresh again, someone comes along and does just that. In this instance Elizabeth Kostovo's, The Historian simply astounded me with it's new take on an old topic. Her descriptions of eastern Europe have interested me enough to want to vacation there. Her story of the historical Vlad Tepes in relation to the fall of Constantinople and consequent Turkish occupation was a history lesson for me. Oh, by the way, I also caught myself looking over my shoulder late at night while reading it!
