Power Ranger Tensou Sentai Goseiger Headers DX Datas Hyper Megazord Bandai Japan

    It's a "meh" toy.
I got Datas Hyper more because he can carry the other Headder accessories, not because I like the toy by itself. That being said, wouldn't you like a walking, talking video arcade machine that can also fight giant monsters as a friend...?

    Boring but not bad
I'm not particularly fond of "parts-formers" type transforming toys- where they deliberately separate into a bunch of small individual pieces, rather than staying as a single piece and moving around like a Rubik's Cube and require THINKING on the part of the user. On the flip side, parts-formers allow more customization in terms of where you place those same parts. That said, I do NOT recommend getting the TigerLance just by itself, because it is not very engaging by itself, and is so obviously intended to work with the other toys from the "Ryusoulger" line, specifically the humanoid robos DX KishiryuOh, DX Kishiryu Neptune, DX YokuryuOh, and movie-exclusive repaint DX KishiryuJin. The paint applications- sparse and minimalist as they are- are well applied, the hard ABS plastic is of good quality and shaping, ratcheting hip joints are nice and tight, and the LEGO stud-inspired connections are sufficient to hold it together nicely. Kids will love it no matter what, but adult collectors who have been with the Super Sentai Series brand for many years already may shrug and just say "meh".

Overly simple, a new direction for the Super Sentai Series
I made a one hour long "unboxing" video, showcasing my first reactions to this toy. Look up YouTube username, EVA_Unit_4A (alternately EVAUnit4A), and then look for the video called "Pretty, frustrating". In short, it is a nice remold/recoloring of the regular-release DX KishiryuOh with a cool mystical-samurai theme, but I protest the simplicity of the transformation process as well as the overt "parts-swapping" nature of how the combining gimmick works. Also this is the second time in six years they're giving us a dinosaur-themed series, which is... frustrating.
