Buy Two Saddlebags, Instead
I bought this bag to determine whether investing in more expensive products made by Eberlestock would be worth it, and this particular pack is a terrible way to do that.
It's small. Smaller than the average small MOLLE gp bag. Actual dimensions are misleading, since the pack is padded, and the interior dimensions differ significantly from the exterior. The padding is nice (and one of the primary reasons for buying one of these) but I can fit my shooting glasses, which I keep in a normal, generic eyeglass-case, and a small pair of field-glasses, and that's it. There are many sections on the inside, but they're odd-sized. Nothing about the bag is pistol-mag sized, so forget about that. You could maybe fit two of them in each of the exterior pockets, but they'd move around some-- which is frustrating, since multi-tools are roughly the same size as a pistol-mag; actually *securing* your gear is more of a challenge than it should be.
As far as fit goes... I didn't even mess around with the optional harness that they make. I mounted it to my pack using MALICE clips, which it accommodates nicely, however, the columns are of the *odd* variety, and there are five of them. What this means is that if you want to *center* this pack on a larger pack, or a vest, or a war-belt, you must make sure that your MOLLE is of odd sort. If you mount it on an evenly-numbered MOLLE panel, it'll either be off-center, or pinched in the middle. (Best fit for a belt or vest would be on the side, or hip; that way, you can still get to your stuff. It actually *fits* nicely as a buttpack, but the small size defeats that purpose-- unless you're a minimalist).
The zippers... are good, but they don't like the curve of the pack's design. They get stuck easily, which can be frustrating.
Basically, this pack was a really good *idea*, but I feel that the execution fell short. If it were larger, the zippers would probably work better, it would definitely hold more stuff, and an extra column of loops would not be a bad thing at all. For $40.00 and change, you can do a lot better; it's a $20.00 bag.
As to my feelings on Eberlestock?
I did not let this particular bag make up my mind for me. I ended up getting a pair of saddlebags that match the Multipack, and *those* are two of the best and most useful packs I've ever gotten. All three of these things together transformed my TAG Assault Pack into a respectable hunting bag-- and I DO like having a padded case attached to the whole rig; it is a safe place for optics.
If I had it to do over, I would not buy the Multipack again; but I don't hate it, I do use it, and it does make life a little better.
But if it were redesigned, it could make things a LOT better (and, it'd be worth $40.00-- $50.00).
Fair enough?

Good Germans
I bought this particular kit in order to obtain a guard wearing a Zeltbahn. One can try to dress a figure up in a scratchbuilt poncho, or try to track down an old Verlinden kit made of lead foil to do it-- but this solves the problem with less toxic exposure, or need to obtain reference, or the need to... sculpt.
It's a brilliant kit, for the reasons mentioned above, as well as the other five figures and multiple equipment sprues that you receive.
Do you need German gear that didn't come from the same molds as your other kits, so that your stowage looks more realistic?
Sorted.
Do you prefer for hands to be sculpted around equipment?
Done.
Do you prefer for your mold-lines to follow contours that do not draw undur attention to themselves?
Preiser is very good at this.
Do you prefer your 1/35 figures to be taller than average?
These are not those. They're pretty much *exactly* 1/35, as Preiser also makes 1/32 figures.
These are a good standard by which to judge other kits.
Hope this helps!

Better than MSM's
So, as far as flame patches with Velcro backings are concerned, I've gotten two of the embroidered MSM versions, and this one. The PVC version is superior because:
1.) PVC doesn't shed, or fray-- both of my embroidered patches have errant threads.
2.) Smaller profile-- This PVC patch is about 50% the size of the larger, embroidered version. This is good if you want to put it on a hat-- with a smaller, flag-sized Velcro field.
3.) Stitching of Velcro Backing-- Embroidered versions aren't sewn correctly at the points of the flames, causing the ends to flap & fray. PVC version is properly stitched, and does not have the same problem.
I realize that this review is a bit banal, but let's be honest; we're talking about a six-dollar investment. If you were debating between buying fabric, or buying rubber... the rubber one is better.
