Air Navigation : Army Air Forces Training Command, Paperback by Army Air Forc...

Interesting, but the printer incorrectly collated the original's loose pages – correct sequence but the binder holes are opposite the spine side, lo
The info is interesting. It is, as stated, a paperback. The listing picture is a little misleading. The book's listing picture is actually a picture of a picture on a white background of the original book. Not really a big deal. However, the pages were copied incorrectly as to sequence. The book was loose leaf - probably for ease of updating - and each loose page is copied with a white background but the holes that should be on the spine edge are on the outer side due to not including the blank back side of one of the interior cover pages, so when running the odd numbered pages back through the copier for the evens, the odds are on the "back" of the page and the even numbered on the front, i.e. 2 is on the front and 3 on the back with the binder holes on the right side of page 2, opposite the spine side. The pages are in the correct sequence but having the binder holes opposite from the spine side of the pages is funny, but distracting. Other than that, the book is interesting. My dad was a B-17 navigator and it is intriguing to read the book he must have used while training at the base near San Marcos, Texas back during WW II.
FIBER-LOK Non Skid RUB BACKING 32 fl oz natural rubber, easy to apply SEALED

Does help with slippage but coverage overstated and too thick for thin coats.
It does seem to work to help prevent slippage, so I recommend it with these reservations: I bought the quart size as it says 30 sq. ft. of coverage and I had several rugs to treat. I have a 28"x 46" entry hall rug (about 9 sq.ft.) that I washed and then peeled off the remnants of old rubber backing, taped a plastic shower curtain over my patio table outside in pleasant weather and taped the rug by the corners face down over the middle. Leaving about an inch untreated around the perimeter, with a flexible paint brush that fit into the canister I brushed one coat on width-wise, then several hours later a second coat length-wise. The product was too thick to spread very thinly but I tried my best each way. That used nearly ALL of the quart and the 1/4" or so in the bottom was getting too gummy by the end to spread. I used a box fan behind me on low to create a light breeze to help push the very strong ammonia fumes away but could still smell them a bit. If you use this product I would recommend you do it outside due to the strong toxic fumes and use a very stiff brush or trowel to help enable spreading it more evenly and thinly, making the initial strokes in the direction of any "grain" in texture and work as quickly as you can. Wait until the first coat is fully set before applying the second. Leave the rug pinned or taped down outside at least a day or two to fully cure and prevent the setting rubber from contracting if released too soon and minimize the strong ammonia smell before bringing it inside. Be sure to use eye protection and gloves and read the precautions and first aid information on the label. Check their website or others to see if there is some way to safely thin the product some for better spread ability. Remember the quart size (32 oz.) stated coverage of 30 sq.ft. was over 3 times higher than I achieved on the rather rough underside of my 9 sq.ft. rug and plan accordingly.
