velcro matters
I've used a # of the patent remedies for easing plantar fasciitis. The arch sleeves are a good idea, but most of them need to be pulled on over the toes, and if you're old enough to be getting plantar fasciitis you've probably not quite as limber as you were a few decades ago. These are the only ones I know of that come with a velcro fastener, which makes them significantly easier to get on and off. And that ease in turn means you'll use them more--put on when the arch starts to hurt, take off when the compression starts to hurt, repeat--less of a commitment. The velcro does make them a bit bulkier than the simple sleeves if having something that doesn't show is a consideration for you. I find I care less every year about what shows.

Dover Middle Ages coloring book
1st & in many ways the best of the specialty coloring books, this one has stood the test of time. Superbly planned and executed.

got plantar fasciitis?
I do. I had it 15 years ago, did some exercises, & it went away. I started getting it again 5 yrs ago & it didn't go away. Various exercises, soda bottle full of frozen water, several patented self-help devices, and finally these. After the 1st few weeks of wearing them to bed, I began to drop the other approaches. After the first few months I started to wear them 18-24 hours a day. And the more I wore them, the more the pain disappeared. Since I started using them regularly I've had virtually no problem with foot pain, not even the lifelong stress that comes from having high arches & shoes that never have support in the right spot. --I've had several versions of these sleeves. I've found the key thing is a fit that's as snug as you can stand it. If they slip around, they're not tight enough. These are a good price, and as effective as any I've had. You can even get 2 pairs: wash one & wear the other. The last pair I had lasted a year, with only a couple of washings. (For some reason they seldom smell. Odd, but convenient.) Really good value. Amazed that something so cheap & obvious could have such a huge good result.
