ultra ultra wide
What i really like about this lens is the ultra wide angle of this lens on a full frame dslr or 35mm film slr camera. It is the widest you will probably find for a while. It is surprisingly sharp for being so wide after stopping the aperture down a bit. What's pretty nice about the lens is that it comes with a filter adapter for 82mm since the front of the lens protrudes out. The downfall is that it won't work for a full frame because it will be a circle in the frame with the picture and everything else outside of it will be black unless you are zoomed in to the max 24mm. I suppose you could rig something up or us a cokin filter adapter. Another thing I'm not too pleased with but will not disqualify it for me is that it's not a fast lens. The fastest aperture is at f/4.5 when at 12mm. For most like myself will probably be using this for landscapes and scenery so a tripod will come into play so no big deal. All in all its a great lens for creative effects or landscapes and what not. I would definitely suggest this lens but do not expect much hand held shooting. I especially like this lens for long exposure photography. If you decide to join the wide side, enjoy, because i know i am.
