Waterproof sealer for outdoors
1 of 1 found this helpful I'm currently caught up in the craze for painting rocks to hide & seek. Because they go outdoors they need a waterproof sealer and this seems to be the one that folk use. Only other sensible alternative is clear nail varnish & that's much more expensive! The only issue I had with it was that it took much longer to dry than the label suggested. It said to re-coat in 20 minutes and it took almost 2 days to be anywhere near dry. I imagine it would seal almost any finish, I was using acrylics. It can also be used as an adhesive although I haven't tried it as that.

A trip back to childhood!
I grew up with the Flower Fairies in their respective spring, summer, autumn, winter volumes, but until I re-visited them in this compendium edition, I hadn’t realised that most of my (fairly extensive) knowledge of wild and garden flowers, had come from these books. The paintings are botanically accurate, the poems are sweet, the book overall is a joy.
Cicely Mary Barker was a truly gifted artist and it was interesting to read her history on the inside flap of the book jacket.
As a large and heavy book, I couldn’t recommend it for a young child, the small individual editions are much better due to their size, however, in this complete compendium the illustrations are of course much larger, so for an older child or an adult, it would be ideal.
