The beginning that would end on "…Famous Last Words…"…mandatory (and comes with a very nice bonus!)!
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the anniversary edition of what can be considered the first Supertramp album - they made two before this one but let's not talk about it now(!). This is an embryonary reference of all they would do in the future until "…famous Last Words…" (1982). Here you find highlights as "School" and "Dreamer"… but there is more and in my humble opinion better on this record. Everybody knows this is a must have for any Supertramp fan… nice and easy to listening to! I already had the original recording but bought this one for the bonus live disc. The live performance is an interesting document that shows some energy and is (a lot) more raw then "Paris"… unfortunately (to me!) the recording has (sometimes) a hint of microphone noise - noise very close to signal. Anyway it's very well worth!

Simply indispensable!
This is my second favorite opera - the first being Monteverdi's Orfeo (Teldec/Harnoncourt recording) and the third being Wagner's Ring cycle (Decca/Solti recording). I own several recordings of it (even the first one conducted by Toscanini), but this one is by far the most balanced one between interpretation and sound quality. Talarc is known by making high quality recordings and this one is, no doubt, the reference(!). The generous booklet (with the libretto on original and in English translation) comes with a monograph, biographical and technical notes - these last ones illustrate the obsession for sound quality; Threshold amplifiers and B&W 801 speakers for monitoring(!!!). This is a relatively unknown recording marginal to the common references, making the record itself a bit rare… and you will not find a lot of reviews about it online… but do not take these facts as an "no go"! Believe me, this is painfully underrated recording that deserves to be taken very seriously.

Kate Bush as herself (it is not as her best bacause she never had a worse!).
This is one of the best albums from Kate Bush discography. Very solid and very immersive. Give it a listening.
