5pcs XTP8871 5V 1A Single Sound Amplifier Module Mono Digital Amplifier

Solid little 3/5 watt amp

At first I had an issue because I wasn't sure which wire was which besides positive and negative. From left to right it's Positive(power in), negative(ground), Right(audio in), left(audio in or ground for mono), Positive(speaker out), negative (speaker). Pretty hard to solder so I did a top bottom alternating config on the connection because while moving it around the points touched and I shorted one out. Overall, I used it on a 5-10 watt 2" speaker and made some pretty solid portable Bluetooth speakers out of it(does not have bt, bought that board seperately). Be patient, it sounds better once it breaks in and adjusts to the speakers load. Running one at 2.5 ohms and it heats up a little but runs flawlessly. Can't go past half volume on my phone though without distorting but sounds very clear at low volumes. Better than expected for such a low price.

Waste of $$

I bought 2 of these and both work, but not very good at all. As soon as you attempt to raise the volume they go into protection mode and let off an annoying ring sound. You need to power off and then back on to turn it off. The Bluetooth seemed to work fine but the amplifier couldn't power a 5 watt 2" speaker enough to be louder than a whisper. Also, sound quality wasn't very good at low volume either. I was hopeful but would never re-order this. Use for a low wattage, low consumption speaker at 2.5 watts at best.
