DPP…My Go To Carry Optic and WHY
I have DPP’s on both my Sig P320 X5 Legion CO USPSA competition guns and on 2 of my EDC guns. Everything about them makes them my go to optic.
Viewing area glass is large and clear. Great field of view. Very sharp/crisp. Extra protection (2 layers) around the glass. Super easy battery changes which I do yearly but not necessary. Very easy to turn on and off. Easy to use one button control to do everything. Easy to adjust dot brightness though many find it awkward but just takes some getting used to. Once set it can stay set (your option). Has motion sensor to instantly turn on (great for carry gun). Leupold calls that MST (motion sensor technology). I’ve never had a warranty issue or any failures with any of my DPP’s. Comes in 2.5, 6 & 7.5moa (I have all 3 sizes). For pistol I prefer the 6moa for daytime competition though I have used the 2.5 turned up to full brightness and it works fine even in the bright Arizona sun. I use the 2.5 for indoor competition or night shooting under the lights outdoors and sometimes when shooting on very overcast days. The 7.5moa triangle is great for EDC (6 is fine if you don’t like the triangle).
I had switched one of my competition guns to the Trijicon SRO for a year because of the large field of view and then came back to the DPP. The field of view is just slightly greater than the DPP but not really enough to make a difference (IMO). The SRO sticks up off the gun too much making it very vulnerable to potential bumps and it’s construction is just too fragile which is why it’s not approved for military. Also the buttons were too hard to use. Battery changes on the SRO were terrible. The battery cap was a bear to line up so as to not cross thread. Not that it really matters, but the looks of the DPP on the P320 Legion is better than the SRO which looked like it was just stuck on top of the gun (which it really was since it required an adaptor plate; the DPP is a direct mount).
I have also used Trijicon RMR’s. I won’t get into them except to say they are great but they are more old school in field of view and technology. I’ve used a bunch of Sig Sauer Romeos for handguns. They are ok but I’ve had a lot of warranty issues with them. Sig thankfully has great customer service and turn around their repairs/replacements real fast. Awesome company.
Holosun makes a nice product and are up and coming but their field of view is too small for my liking.
All this is just my opinion based on my personal use and experience. That and 4 bucks will buy you a gallon of gas! Good luck.

Must haves for Dillon XL650
Smoothes out the machine quite a bit.
You have to add the index cam bearing to complete the job. The bearings eliminate all the messy greasing. They are all easy to install and are well made.
