Cheers to the Gin Rickey!
1 of 1 found this helpful Even in the middle of an outbreak of winter weather the item arrived earlier than anticipated, well packed and protected. I had been eyeing one of these little parlor guitars to add to my collection of instruments and when I needed its unique look and sound for a specific project I was working on I pulled the trigger. Acoustically it has that small body bluesy sound to it, which is nice but plugged in it takes on a whole different feel. Really clean and full for a parlor guitar. Now don't expect that it is gonna have the big sound of your dreadnaught because it won't but you might be surprised by this little gem.
The fit and finish is fine but not fancy. Gretsch has done a good job making a fine instrument and keeping costs down in the tradition of the Jim Dandy and other instrument in their Roots Collection. The
matte smokestack black finish is smooth and understated although I kinda wished there were a couple of color options as I'm a fan of the vintage sunburst finish. But that is just a personal thing.
The Gin Rickey has become my go to 'pick up and play' guitar giving some of my more expensive guitars a rest. I'm happy with this purchase and not sure why I waited so long.

Makes the cut!
After purchasing a set of 2 Calphalon knives a few years ago, I really fell in love with them. The weight and balance was just so good. About 6 months ago I started looking for a full set to match the 2 I already had. These knives are SHARP" I love the style and the quality is very good and they should a lifetime if taken care of properly. The block is attractive and the built in sharpeners are a great feature.
I use these knives every day.
I added a magnetic "sidecar" to hold the 2 knives I had, to make the set completely perfect.
