Success in using it for LinuxCNC
I needed the parallel port in order to run LinuxCNC and communicate with a three-axis CNC machineas, since the old machine that had a built-in LPT port has died and newer ones don't often have them. It took a fair bit of trial and error to find the right settings to address the card and send the right data through the pipes, but now it's working great. Plus it was very inexpensive!
