Extra Camera Body
1 of 1 found this helpful I have committed to the micro four thirds system for my amateur photography needs. My main body is the Olympus Pen F, and I use a selection of Olympus and Panasonic lenses. This OM-D body was purchased as a back-up/ spare for a trip to Alaska where I would be in a very remote area. Also, weigh was a major concern, as during this trip I needed to travel very light; the m4/3 system is exceedingly light and compact. I’m very satisfied with all aspects of this model.

Great Little Camera...
... but full retail cost, and the short battery life, are definite negatives that pull my rating down a star.
Still, the superb Olympus optics, pluses outstanding build and image quality deserve a full five stars. This could be a person’s only camera for a trip where weight is critical.
I use Olympus micro four thirds cameras and lenses almost exclusively (I have one Leica / Panasonic LUMIX m4/3 lens) which are already small and light. Even given that, there are times when I want smaller and lighter yet. The XS-10 gives me (for me) all the megapixels I need with a great fast zoom lens in a pocket sized package. The menus are typical Olympus, and include the filters and setting I want to use too. In fact, this camera provides an important vehicle for my personal project where I shoot everything in a posterized ‘comic book’ effect, and I have already had one book of that project printed, with another on the way.
In summary, if you get this camera used in great shape for a reduced price, and it fits your needs as a street or travel photographer (and yes, this camera can record in RAW and jpg) you could be all set. Add a Flash Air card for wireless transfer to your smartphone, an extra battery or two (not expensive)and you can stay both powered up and edit and post on the fly.
Happy photography!
