I was a little hesitant but actually does what it says
1 of 1 found this helpful I do a lot of camping and many places have WiFi hotspots. This actually works for me. I have it paired to one of the cheap ebay WiFi dongles (look for the 600mbps AC with SMA connector). I also use a USB extension cord so I can have better flexibility mounting this.

The magnetic base is very cheap
It barely adheres well to metal surfaces, and also it degrades the signal quality greatly. I have to use the antenna directly on the WiFi dongle and works OK. The base with the long cable brings the signal down by more than -7 dB which is not acceptable. Maybe it is a bad one; I don't know. But I got what I paid for.
