Childishly written
1 of 1 found this helpful There are not enough facts in this book. I did not realize that the book was merely ABOUT Ed and Lorraine Warren rather than having been written by them. Instead it is a third party who does not know how to write. Rather boring contents. Not compelling at all. I will avoid books by the author Robert Chase in future.

History with a Wicked Twist
1 of 1 found this helpful I don't approve of people getting drunk, but this series is so funny I can't help but laugh. They take a look at real historical events as told by a person who is drunk, but knowledgeable about the era. They then take the soundtrack of that drunk person's telling of history and have live actors lip sync to that voice--so you never hear the actors' voices, just the drunk person. The editors have the actors include every belch or vomiting episode. It does not sound funny, but it is.

Wait for a Reissue
1 of 2 found this helpful Because this is based on a true story, it ends very sadly. The costumes are fantastic and that would be the only reason I'd buy a set, since I make costumes all the time.
HOWEVER Any time the price of a DVD set goes up this high, it is reissued. This happened with the Masterpiece Theatre series THE FIRST CHURCHILLS, THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII, ELIZABETH R and LILLIE just to name a few. There is absolutely no reason to invest a large amount of money in this DVD set. Just wait a while, like I did for the above-named titles. I paid a lot less for them and enjoy them ever so much more.
