Marty Bartholomew wrote a great fly tying primer in this book.
This is a great starter book for the novice fly tier, the second book by Marty certainly compliments this one.

Adamsbuilt 4.5 in adjustable razor scissors are a good value and a quality product
I bought these after I dropped my fly tying scissors and bent a tip, these surprised me as a quality replacement and are 1/2 the price of others. I've since put a mat under my tying table and these should last longer. These are very sharp and are very similar to others I've had. I can palm these easily while tying saving some tying time. I'll probably look for a 4 in. or 4.5 in. next for cutting hair.
