Marlene doesn't play it cool, but still inhabits her character in a very entertaining way.
It's hard for me to be objective about this movie. Although Marlene plays a role unlike her most popular roles, she totally reminds me of the love of my life who passed away in 2017 from breast cancer. Although she was Mexican and Marlene plays Roma here, (gypsy), the same lust for life and love was there. I can't watch this without getting misty eyed and hope that someday I'll ride into the sunset in a caravan as she and Ray Milland do here. Otherwise, the plot is rather contrived and some of the attitudes are somewhat sexist and racist, but considering when it was made, it is pretty good fun.

Great collection of masterful movies.
Great set of DVD's. Arrived in good shape and earlier than predicted. Now I can see all the Kazan movies I've missed.

A bit of crazy from Paul Newman and John Huston
1 of 1 found this helpful A bit of fantasy, but still well acted and surprising to see Victoria Principal in her first role cast as a Mexican and other early appearances by Ned Beatty, Stacy Keach, Jacqueline Bissett, and others. Others that were a surprise included Ava Gardner, Anthony Perkins and John Huston. Quirky and entertaining.
