Beautiful Film
Sometimes after you see a film in the theater, you want to prolong the experience because your heart and mind were opened or changed in some way. Owning this film brings me back to the feelings I had while seeing it for the first time. The photography is beautiful and the characters are people you want to know. The film is in German with English subtitles and takes place both in Berlin and in Tokyo. It is the story of the love between a long-married husband and wife dealing with a major change in circumstance.

Excellent book
If you appreciate writers who know how to use language and write at above an 8th-grade level, you should get this book. I bought the book because it was mentioned in a discussion of books written by a narrator and how points of view can be colored by the narrator's relationship to the events. The book concerns a Columbine-like school shooting and is written from the point of view of the mother of the shooter - not usually a topic I would have chosen for myself. I'm so glad I overcame my initial reluctance because once started, I couldn't put the book down.

Expanding the capabilities of a bread machine
This cookbook details how to use your bread machine to do the difficult part of artisan breads - mixing and kneading the dough. After the machine makes and raises the dough, you are then free to shape the dough and bake in your regular oven. There are dozens of recipes with examples of how to shape the dough to produce breads representative of various European countries.
