Does the job
The product does the job of replacing the old cuffs which can come loose and just fall off and disappear after some months of regular use. Better than buying a complete new headset. The Otis headset IMHO is as good as or better than some expensive electronic ear muffs and worth restoring.

Does what it is suppose to do and is non-toxic.
Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend cleans out carbon fouling very well and, unlike the regular Hoppe's, is non-toxic and non-flammable, so it is quite safe to use indoors. It will not do much for copper and lead fouling but nor do any other regular solvents. Copper needs a specific copper solvent to move it and lead only reacts with highly toxic solvents, so it is best to just scrape it out with Chore Boy or such like, since it is soft, and clean out the debris with Hoppe's.

Great piece of kit for the price
Get one of these and you will be surprised at what you find in your bores. What seems fine to the naked eye turns out not to be fine at all and some of those vintage pieces that you assumed were in bad shape may actually be pristine. It has been a real eye opener for me and will change the way I clean stuff, now I can see the results for myself. Earlier I tried one of those cheap borecams from China and the images were too fuzzy and straight ahead to be of much use. Lyman has obviously adapted this design specifically for the purpose, using a relatively high res cam you can focus close up with a 90 degree mirror in a rigid tube that doesn't dangle around in the bore. The inch markings on the tube are useful to indicate precise location of problems. If you don't want to plug into a wall socket, you can use a mobile phone power bank on the fly.
