This is a great CD!!
I heard "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" from this CD at a friend's and fell in love with it. It is a truly beautiful, unique, and engaging rendition of this traditional "American" favorite, done in a totally different way. So, I ordered the CD. I found it so beautiful, relaxing, yet rhythmical and engaging! It is one of my favorite CD's. It is not the stereotypical American idea of African music...not fast paced, heavy drumming, etc. It's truly engaging and lyrical; calming and soothing, yet not your usual "easy listening" music. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is still my favorite cut, but the whole CD is wonderful. It's great! Try it...you won't be disappointed!!

The First Twelve Months of Life by Theresa Caplan
Great book detailing the developmental milestones of each month during baby's first year, and things you can do to assist development and learning on their level. Helps parent understands the natural needs and "instinctual" wants of young babies, so it makes coping and handling the situation easier. As the child develops, it really helps new parents understand that what is sometimes considered "bad" or "defiant" behavior is normal and a way the child learns what he/she is allowed to do or not do, and how the parent should help the child develop through those stages. The main thing I appreciated and learned from this book is to understand my baby and not to listen to all those people (yes, relatives, too!) who were insisting I was "spoiling" my baby and they were going to grow up "spoiled". They didn't, by the way! I gave this copy as a gift to new parents of their first child, because it still is so helpful and up to date in understanding your baby's needs and how to handle them so they grow up strong, independent and secure!! I love it!

Excellent!
this is an unusual look at 3 people and their relationships to each other. At first I couldn't figure out the title, but it is a look at what you choose to do with your freedom to be yourself and shape your life. I think it is an excellent book!
