A great value in the V4 Xeon family

This is an under-appreciated SKU... This configuration was a custom spec for Amazon... a nice balance of performance and cores; a little heavy on the power consumption. I think the fact that not a lot of public information is available on this chip has kept the prices low, I think it is a grat value in the E5-V4 Xeon range.

If you want/need an ARM server, these are one of the best

Fisrt things first... these are not for casual use. It is big, very noisy, and you probably don't need one. But if you want a large scale ARM system with tons of memory capacity and I/O, along with datacenter class design and manageability they are great. No issues at all installing Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo, or the ESXi ARM fling. A workhorse that is great for large compute jobs as long as you don't have to be in the same room with it. Note: pay close attention when installing RAM dimms; the slots used will greatly affect performance and incorrect configurations may result in some dimms not being usable.

Perfect addition to an FRS/BRZ!

A wonderful addition to the FRS/BRZ - which is a great car with terrible rear visibility. Well constructed, good image, reasonably priced.
