Beautiful portrayal of a great star!!!
This movie is truly a star itself. It recounts the unbelievable talents of Gertrude Lawrence as she rises to stardom on Broadway as well as London's West End in the first half of the 20th century. It also displays the considerable talents of Julie Andrews. It is entertaining and beautifully donel. The dancing, songs, and acting are superb, the story fascinating, and the on-location venues gorgeous. If you love theater, you will not want to miss this outstanding glimpse into the life of Gertrude Lawrence, who was a truly great star, much beloved by audiences on both sides of the Atlantic as well as by her fellow performers.
