Costly and sometimes unreliable!
I've used this paint as a yearly touch-up for my gas stove fireplace that peels somewhat during the heating season. Even with a base primer on cast iron, this paint is touchy at best. The one thing I've found is that if you check the manufacturer date on bottom of can, make sure that it is NOT more than 2 YEARS OLD. Older paint will spit and sputter from can and make a mess. This is why I said the quality is not good. You must shake the can allot before and during a painting project too to get the best results. Several light coats works best. The cost is another factor why this paint is rated low, as other high temp paints are half to a third less in price. I tried to get my paint from a local distributor but waited over 2 months before ordering online, which doubles the price for shipping. Unfortunately, the paint color is just what I want and other paint companies don't come close to the color (Almond) I need. So I will continue each summer to touch-up with this paint.
