I didn't care about cosmetic condition if it worked, so I didn't read the notes, which apparently said Face ID doesn't work. When I requested a refund they wrote an angry reply, refusing to accept the return and threatening to keep the money and the device if I try to send it back, which they claimed to have done to other customers previously. Don't be intimidated, eBay accepted the return.
