Sevenoak SK-GH02 Carbon Fiber Gimbal-Type Tripod Head for Large Telephoto Lenses

    Good for the price range
The movement is relatively smooth if care is taken to adjust the tensions on the screws. Seems well machined.
2000/Cs AMMEX Disposable Vinyl Gloves Powder Free Strong Non Latex Non Nitrile

    Good value
Standard quality viny gloves, good for protecting your hands from corrosive detergent or dishwashing soap, mild acid or alkali, paint, etc. To be used at normal room temperature.
    Nikon Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D IF-ED Lens

    Sharp and fast
Sharp at all apertures. Extremely fast to focus on a Nikon Df or d600. Nice bokeh. This is a good lens for wildlife photography and portrait on a Df body if you are not after bird photography (you need a higher tele range for birding). It is easy to carry with the camera attached on a over-the-shoulder sling strap, even on a day long hike. With modern dSLRs, there is little danger of lens/camera shake if you just use 1/1000 s shutter speed. A good trick is to rest the lens on your left elbow facing forward, parallel to the ground, as your left hand grips your right shoulder--your left hand becomes "bean-bag" attached to your shoulder! :-)
