Please, raise your game
1 of 1 found this helpful This is intended to help people taking the Trinity Rock and pop exams. Specifically, its aimed at the session skills component of the exam. Clearly, if you are doing the exam you will have to buy this book, as it is about the only source of information available.
But it could have been done so much better. The practice tracks are just absolute cheesy drivel. How much would it have cost to put some real mu.sicians in a studio and play through the changes? Rockschool manage it.
And the content is just dire. There are very few suggestions on how to approach the exam, and in particular the improvisation tests. The support is limited to suggestions to "Listen to lots of music in the style of Reggae or R+B, or...." Well I'm sorry, thats just stupid at this sort of level. Adam Neely does a fantastic introduction to bass improvisation on Youtube - look at his Cantus Firmus lesson = this could have been summarised in about half a page and would at least have given some sort of framework.
Sorry, just a massive missed opportunity here

stickers very useful
simply stick on the keyboard, and allow notes to be identified relative to the stave - great learning tool

But you'll need a 160mm hole.
