soft spicy

This is one of the finest fragrance you can buy. It's projection I'd excellent. People often say it has a sweet quality akin to Coco Mademoiselle but I don't get that. This is an oriental spicy all the way through. It has a soft spiciness with a touch of vanilla. It's very potent and wearing it you immediately understand why it carries such a hefty price tag.

lovely floral chypre

John Varvatos fragrances are not known for their longevity or projection so the fact that this perfume sits close to the skin and only lasts about four hours was not a surprise. It is, however, incredibly complex and beautiful. The opening is like a rose wine-a bit tart and boozy (which is a JV signature) and it dries down to something akin to the original Miss Dior Cherie but with strong floral notes instead of fruit. The jasmine is particularly heavy and fresh and the whole thing sits on a bed of sandalwood and pacchouli. I was very glad to sample this one and am now the proud owner of a full sized bottle.
