Worth much more than the price suggests
1 of 1 found this helpful This is an extremely high quality rifle optic, both generally speaking and for the price. ESPECIALLY for the price. The difference between the version I got for around 130-140 vs the one for a little over 200, is the cheaper version only accommodates a high mount. So there is a space between the optic and the rail. This is not ideal for some platforms, and some users would want the low mount option for their gun. However, for my use on an AKM pattern rifle, this is perfect; the gap between the optic and the rail is absolutely perfect for using the rifles iron sights, which remain fully visible without obstructing the optic at all, due to its high mount. There are numerous torture test videos of this optic on YouTube, and while there may be optics of higher quality that exist, they certainly are not anywhere even close to this price point. You can buy 4 or 5 of these for the price of an optic that would be appreciably better quality, and it’s debatable if the difference in quality really justifies the difference in price. I own products by both EOtech and Trijicon. I’m not just speaking without experience.
I must clarify though, the ONLY optic I would ever recommend for a pistol is a Trijicon RMR. As high quality as this Romeo 5 is, I personally witnessed someone’s Romeo 1 pro on his 320 shatter in the holster when he bumped into something. That’s something that simply will never happen with an RMR.
Bottom line - Romeo 5 on a rifle ? Excellent choice, can’t go wrong.
