Good cheap little HT for newly licensed users
1 of 1 found this helpful I just got my HAM license, and this is a great little unit to start out on. It is nice to have the 8watts available, as it does better in urban areas with the extra power. It needs a better antenna, but those are cheap, and just about every HT on the market has a lame stock antenna. 4/5 because it cannot be programmed to only transmit on the HAM bands, even from external programming, making the unit a bit of a band pirate if you're not careful

Replacement heating element
Drop in replacement heating element, but I did have to recalibrate my station's temperature measurement. Be sure you have a meter handy to make sure you connect it up right though.

Good protoboard, good price
Great little assortment of protoboard, and at a good price. This is the kind you want, don't buy any of that Phenolic junk. What more can I say, it's small chunks of protoboard at a great price.
