Much better than the original design
This design, with the continuous steel blades, is much more robust than the original blades that are partially embedded in the plastic hub. The latter assemblies are poorly designed and are prone to cracking. Mine developed several cracks, which necessitated replacement with this model I found on Ebay. I expect to get more reliable and longer service from my purchase.

Excellent chopping blade --- Braun quality
As with all things Braun, this is a quality item. It comes with a cover that protects the sharp edges of the twin blades... and, more importantly, the hands of the user. Neat!
