A disappointing addition to an already faltering franchise.
3 of 4 found this helpful This generation of Pokemon doubles down on what I hated about Sun & Moon, with even more hand holding, more pointless cutscenes when they aren't necessary while not showing the actually important moments, less emphasis on telling a good story, another annoying, game-breaking mechanic in the form of dynamax/gigantamax, weak enemy AI, even less trainer encounters/battles, less optional areas to explore/alternate routes to travel, a butchered Pokedex with only around half of the 'mons usable in the game, a practically nonexistent post-game, a really poorly implemented 'evil' faction/organization... it felt like a very half-baked addition to the franchise. Maybe worth ~$25 - $30 on a good day, just to sate that Pokemon craving with something new. Honestly, I'd recommend sticking with one of the older titles and just skipping this generation entirely.
