Entertaining but the story lines have less quality than earlier series.
I really like all the Lovejoy series but I find the strength of the storylines gets diluted as each series goes by.Stories like the Judas Pair and the Firefly cage in the first series are never repeated in quality in later series. I think the comedy aspect of Lovejoy is increased and series 6 also has the unpleasant aspect of Ian McShane asserting himself in a more self appreciating manner. Almost as he sees himself as a more dominant personality amongst the cast. He seems to change from a loveable rogue in the Lovejoy character in the earlier episodes to more of a boor in the guise of making the episodes more of a vehicle for himself i.e. Ian McShane. I also missed Lady Jane and Eric in this series but was glad Tinker was still present who I think is played by a fine actor. The only plus really is I got to see more episodes of what used to be one of my favourite programs.
