Great game to play for pokemon fans. (Some spoilers for the mechanics and story of the game)

Great game and compared with the most recent game in the series, way better in the battle when the pokemon attack and react to being hit. A lot of the moves have a unique way it was implemented in the game alongside how the pokemon react when doing them. The new mechanic of opening the hearts of shadow pokemon, a main part of the game, is interesting as the shadow pokemon moves are super effective against every pokemon while not against other shadow pokemon. Overall good but one thing that it doesn't do better than is the other games we have is that opening pokemon's hearts takes a lot of time even when you do lots of battling while limiting the moves the pokemon knows and they can go into reverse mode that makes it so you either waste a turn snapping them out of it or taking damage and you can't heal them at all.

Love the game and ZERO series!

The game is great on the ds with the touch screen and top screen allowing for dialog and internal thoughts to be separate and not crowding the screen and one part that I love was the soundtrack and sound effects as the combination legitimately scared me with how they worked together to convey emotion and tension of the the moment. The story is amazing with all the ways you can go about the game to get changing dialog from characters based on who is with you and the things it introduces to the player being strange, interesting while at the same time absurd to think about coming into play later on in the story and not just forgotten. The character art is good as they have a great design thay can move and react to the situation in the game with some areas where it doesn't match the tone and with no voice acting can get repetitive but the sound design really help mitigate this. WARNING MINOR SPOILERS FOR THE GAME! READ WITH CARE! The story is broken up into multiple endings with the fact you can skip seen before dialog makes going back thru to get all ending, some being more gruesome than other so be warned it will show up and hope even knowing this wish to play this awesome game and get into the series.
