High quality in design and hardware but software is lacking
1 of 1 found this helpful Highlights:
High quality in design and hardware but software is lacking. Best is to delay your buy after a few SW updates (and probably a price drop).
More details:
HW seems to be robust and of good quality. I assume that after SW will be updated this watch will be of top quality. But since you are asked to pay primum, no doubt that you may expect to get a fully functional watch.
- Basic features lacking:
- Can not display time when in middle of an activity (need to pause activity to see time)
- Can not activate light on without changing the display (pressing any button will activate the light but will also activate another function - so you cant just see current display)
- Low power mode is not activated as expected: when not wearing the watch you might expect it to stop measuring the heart rate (my Ambit2 used to go automatically to low power mode) . but the watch keeps measuring heart rate (wast of battery and lighting up the room)
- Can not fully configure activity modes (via Movecount) - not all old abilities supported yet
- Heart rate accuracy: This might be a problem in many other hand based heart rate - but there is much room for optimization (especially in the beginning of runs it seems to be off)
- And many other minor stuff like display/easy configuration/mobile app est
