purchased for parts
I own two of these receivers and find them more than capable as home theater sound in a 12' by 12' room. The unit I received was pretty much as described with the exception of the fact it was advertised as being fully functional. This receiver had the relatively common problem of not holding memory, (presets and control status) caused by a failed "super capacitor" (C701) on the microprocessor board. My favorite cure is to install a pack of 3 rechargeable AAA cells in series, pig-tailed to the board in the place of the cap. All round, I feel I got my $ worth.
