Magnficent 1/32 Mirage IIIc!
One of the best 1/32 scale modern jet plastic kits Italeri has produced! Lots of detailed pieces throughout, so much so that resin replacement/add-on items would not make much of a difference. Out of the box, the engine is a great model in and of itself with lots of wiring, control boxes and different metal textures moulded in. There's no need to super-detail the engine if you don't want to, but it nonetheless offers a fantastic base for adding scratch-built or after-market bits. Finally, the instruction booklet is quite thick and loaded with large-sized renderings of each assembly. It's very well done and easy to work with. What I think is particularly terrific is how Italeri has called out the various metal colors on the natural metal jets; no guesswork here as to which panels are aluminum, polished metal or otherwise. This is in stark contrast to many other producers and kits which leave the modeller to figure out the shades on their own.
Altogether, although the kit is pricey, I highly recommend it!

Airfix Mk II Lancaster
A superb re-tooling of the Lancaster by Airfix, complete with unique Hercules radial engines. Crisp casting, detailed interior and wheel bays, easy-to-follow instructions, excellent markings. A joy to build.

BIG model, well-engineered
1 of 1 found this helpful If you ever wanted an impressive model from "Star Trek," this is it! The Polar Lights TOS Enterprise builds out to almost 3 feet in length and is designed so that it can be easily built in sub-assemblies. The pieces are well-detailed, but there is ample opportunity for scratch-building (if you're so inclined). For those interested in lighting the ship, various pieces can accommodate wiring and bulbs but you'll have to purchase a lighting kit separately. (It's hard to resist NOT lighting the model, it's that nice!) Finally, the kit includes an improved painting guide based on extensive research of the actual filming miniature. Guesswork as to what colors to use has been significantly reduced, making the painting experience a whole lot easier! Enjoy!
