This tiny bowl is just beautiful. It was packed well enough to arrive intact. The seller could have been more forthcoming in the item description. They did not state that there was a chip, nor describe its size. Instead, they merely said that the pictures provided all information about condition. When there is a chip in the underside of the rim, it's not fully visible in pictures unless the item is tipped and a photo taken of the interior. None were provided.

A Slice of Vermont Post-hippie Life
I found this book to be a great combination of coming-of-age (as it's told from the point of view of a woman recalling her teenage years) and a gripping suspense story, with the added bonus of taking us into a world unknown to most: that of midwives.

A Different View of A Familiar Old Story
I loved this creative take on the well-known story of Jacob's family. It takes you within the tents of the ultimate blended family -- those of different religions and many different mothers surviving their harsh lifestyle together in Biblical times. The writing is EXCELLENT, the characters believable and sympathetic, and the story is, well, of Biblical proportions!

Unforgettable, Though You'll Wish it Wasn't
This is a memoir of one man's unusual and unusually painful childhood. I bought this book to have a great read on a long day of traveling. Little did I know it would have me squirming in my airplane seat. Don't get me wrong, it was a well-written, entertaining memoir and, though it seems unbelievable (or at least exaggerated), I finished feeling that it was probably a true story. Young Augusten Burroughs has a crazy mother who enslaves herself to her even more whacked-out psychologist, and poor Augusten is along for the ride. He spends much of his childhood living in his psychologist's home, in an environment that give new meaning to the phrase, "dysfunctional." It's a quick read so enjoy it, but be forewarned that the graphic descriptions of homosexual relations may be too much for many readers. (One friend had to stop after the first one and couldn't bring himself to pick up the book again.)
