A "must be" lens for every Canon DSLR (APS-C size) owner.
8 of 8 found this helpful I think it's a "must be" lens for every Canon DSLR (APS-C size) owner. It's not the excellent lens, but a very good one to have in my bag, by the side of a 18-55mm or a 17-85mm, to cover almost everything I like to take a photo. Not heavy as a 70-300mm, with IS, quick and accurate in most cases focusing and good to very good image quality.
I have also the EF55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 USM, a good lens, without IS. The 55-250mm has almost the same picture quality, it's the same light and small, in addition has 50mm (50x1,6=80mm) more Tele and the IS facility, but it's not suitable for full frame cameras.
Not for miracles, but a very good "general purpose" lens, in a low price.

Value for money
It has nothing to envy from the original spare part. Works properly, without any problem.

Necessary complement to a FF camera, without a build-in flash, for everyday use.
Pros: small size, light weight, satisfactory GN, covers very well 24mm focal distance (on Full Frame camera), excellent price.
Cos: there is no a panel for ultra wide angle covering.
Ideal to carry always with a FF camera, that has no a build-in flash, for common everyday use. Also very suitable for additional, slave flash lighting. Excellent value for money.
