A Profile of Quality Production and FUN!
5 of 5 found this helpful I remember as a young boy coming home from kindergarden and setting up my lunch tray in front of the TV. It is about 1974 and Sesame Street is in its frormative years and is about to begin on PBS. Soon my mother brings in my peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut in finger shapes and the the theme song of Sesame Street begins as well as the magic. This program has had such a formative impact on me, that now as a 36 year old man, I am beginning a quest as a puppeteer with some of my own designs. I originally bought this set as a form of inspiration by watching what I consider the genius of Henson, Oz, and Spinney. However, when began to view the Old School collection, unbelievably, I remembered EVERY muppet sketch and even the animations. It was truly a powerful testament to my past considering I have not seen them for 30 years. Not only that, I am a somewhat successful ceramic artist and I was able to trace the earliest form of inspiration of my current work DIRECTLY to something found in Sesame Street. So, you see how much theses videos meant to me. The product itself was very well put together covering what I consider some of the best of the entire series. Covering the first five years, the 3 disc set had many extras including bios on the puppeteers as well as menu extras. What a neat snapshot of history. Henson and Co. changed eveerything for me. What genious they all have.
